What You Will Need Applicants should be at least 18 years of age and have a high school or General Educational Development ( GED) diploma. Previous reservations or customer service experience in a call center environment is preferred but leid required. Agents must live within a 75-mile radius of American Airlines offices in the Texas, North Carolina, and Florida locations. Paid training for the first 10 weeks takes place onsite at the office in the respective locations before work-from-home can commence. Agents must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays. Employees must own a computer with a high-speed internet connection and a phone that can be used for the position. Salary and Benefits The pay scale starts at just above the federal minimum wage in 2018 on an hourly basis, but after a six-month probationary period, employees are eligible for a small raise. Employees enjoy free or low-fare travel benefits as perks. Health and dental insurance and paid vacation are among the others. There is also a 401(k) plan with some company matching.
